An experience that will make you feel more alive than ever.

This 9-day trip leads you from the mountainous cloud forest of Costa Rica to the stunning Pacific Coast. Along the way, you'll stay in a bungalow below Arenal Volcano, a cabin overlooking the rainforest, and finally in a hideaway by the beach with 3 (three!) pools. In La Fortuna, volcanic-heated hot springs, specialty coffee shops, and traditional Costa Rican restaurants called Sodas are just down the road. You can walk the hanging bridges to see toucans, swim below bright blue waterfalls, and even go zip-lining or rafting if you’re up to it! In Monteverde, you’ll see the immense biodiversity of the Cloud Forest. Join the group for a night walk in the jungle or catch a vibrant sunset from the mountains. In Manuel Antonio, you’ll stay right on the Pacific Coast. Learn to surf, hike in the national forest, look for dolphins and whales, head out on a catamaran, or just hang by the beach!

This is the trip you've been waiting for.

Day One

Arrival in Costa Rica

Arrive in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. You'll get a professional airport transfer straight away to the accommodation in La Fortuna.

After check-in, relax and see if you can spot any sloths.

Meet everyone in the group and get ready to learn all about Pura Vida. Translated, the phrase means “simple life” or “pure life”, but in Costa Rica, it is a way of life. Costa Ricans (Ticos) use this term to say hello, to say goodbye, to say everything’s great, to say everything’s cool. Not surprisingly, Costa Rica has been named one of the happiest countries in the world!

Day Two

La Fortuna Waterfall

Wake up in the morning to an included breakfast.

Join the group for a walk to La Fortuna Waterfall through some of the most beautiful terrain in the world. The way to the waterfall will have the best views of Arenal Volcano and the surrounding mountains. Soon you'll see the waterfall towering over 230 feet. Entrance to the park is included, and you'll see abundant wildlife along the way. Down by the pool of the falls, you can go for a swim or admire the view.

After the waterfall, the group will head back into town for an included group lunch at a typical Costa Rican "Soda." Dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

After lunch, the group will be free to head out for the afternoon to do one of the optional excursions for La Fortuna, such as trying specialty Costa Rican coffee and chocolate at the best cafe in town.

Day Three

La Fortuna Free Day

Today is YOUR DAY! You have the majority of the day to head out on one of the unbelievable activities listed just below. The amazing part about being in a group is that there is always someone down to go on an adventure with you!

The group may choose to reconvene in the afternoon for a trip to the volcanic hot springs! Take a relaxing soak in this river heated by the activity of Arenal Volcano.

Optional Activities in La Fortuna:

  • Try an adventure activity! Every type of excursion you can think of is available: rafting, zip-lining, canyoning, rock climbing, ATVing, etc.

  • Take a hike around the Arenal Volcano National Park or Ecological Park through old lava fields to a stunning view of Arenal Volcano and the massive Lake Arenal.

  • Join a guided walk in the rainforest near La Fortuna to see where dozens of sloths now live!

  • Head out to the hanging bridges near La Fortuna for a beautiful morning or afternoon walk across 7 bridges suspended hundreds of feet above the Costa Rican rainforest. See how much wildlife you can spot or get a guide!

  • Looking for something really exciting? Take a day trip to Rio Celeste: a place so interesting you have to see it with your own eyes! Two chemically different rivers join to form a brilliant turquoise river and waterfall.

  • There's no better place to go horseback riding for a unique activity with volcano views!

Day Four

La Fortuna to Monteverde

Wake up to an included breakfast! You'll have the morning to walk around town, head out on a short acvitity, and say goodbye to the town. If you're looking to try the freshest juice for $1.50 or the best chocolate of your life, we know the places!

We will have an included traditional Costa Rican lunch (with accommodations for dietary restrictions such as vegan, vegetarian, etc) either in La Fortuna, on the way to Monteverde, or upon arrival in Monteverde.

We will head out on private transportation with our Costa Rican driver to Monteverde! Along the way, we will take a scenic boat ride across Lake Arenal. In Monteverde, we will check into our cabins with views of the famous Cloud Forest area of Costa Rica.

After check-in and time to eat, the group will go for an included guided night walk in the Cloud Forest, one of the most famous things to do in Costa Rica! Your local guide will show you how the rainforest comes alive at night, and you might be able to spot animals such as sloths, monkeys, colorful scarlet macaws and many other types of birds, butterflies, toucans, vipers, coatis, and very rarely even pumas or jaguars!

Day Five

Monteverde Cloud Forest

This morning we will wake up in our cabins nestled in the Cloud Forest. We have a private bus from now until the end of the trip to take around wherever the group is going! This is a huge benefit of going with a group and sharing a bus because we can reach more remote and exciting places that others can't.

After stopping in town for time to eat, the group will head to one of Monteverde's 3 famous Cloud Forest Preserves. Anyone who visits Costa Rica needs to learn about this extremely unique and world-famous ecological zone, which is almost exclusively found in this area of Costa Rica.

The group will meet for a stunning sunset from up in Monteverde overlooking the ocean from our favorite viewpoint.

Optional Excursions in Monteverde:

  • Go for a walk or take a tour in one of the 3 of Monteverde's famous Cloud Forest nature preserves. A Cloud Forest is a tropical rainforest with persistent cloud cover at the canopy level. There are more endemics (species found in only one location) in this area than almost anywhere else in the world, and the rain can sometimes fall sideways! You'll see mountain peaks and active volcanoes peak out from the canopy.

  • Take a canopy excursion and see the top of the rainforest from a series of zip-lines, bridges, tarzan swings, and superman jumps!

  • Nothing completes a TWC trip like a coffee tour! This area of Costa Rica is famous for growing coffee, and there are many farms, as well as cafes that roast the beans, that give tours showing guests the process from the field to your latte!

Day Six

Monteverde to Manuel Antonio

Wake up to your last view of the Mountainous Highlands of Central Costa Rica and an incredibly special and biodiverse area of our world. The group will head out on our bus to a breakfast surrounded by monkeys.

We will have a private transfer to what we've all been waiting for, the coast! Along the way, we will stop at one of our favorite places, Crocodile Bridge! From this viewpoint, you can see dozens of crocodiles that live down below in the river. This is one of our favorite stops, showing you that wildlife is all around you in Costa Rica!

Manuel Antonio is the best coastal destination in Costa Rica with a rainforest hillside, untouched beaches, and national park dedicated to preservation and sustainability. Our accommodation will be in the hillside with views of the ocean and rainforest from above and a jungle garden, three outdoor swimming pools, a yoga deck, and a hotel restaurant.

The group will come together for a fun happy hour in the jungle garden with an included drink (alcoholic or juice) and enjoy the view. There is often yoga, meditation, beach soccer, pilates, and karaoke at our accommodation!

Day Seven

Manuel Antonio National Park

Wake up to an included breakfast! Try the pancakes, egg breakfast, yogurt bowl, or the typical Costa Rican breakfast of eggs with rice and beans. â€‹

We have our private bus again all day, and we will be heading out as a group to Manuel Antonio National Park! Entrance is included. This park has both rainforest, wildlife, casual forest trails, an offshore coral reef, and a unique coastline with silky white sand. We will spend the day walking the easy trails, looking for wildlife, hanging by the beaches, checking out the tide pools, and swimming and even snorkeling for those who want to.

We will take our private bus into the small town area so that the group can get food, go shopping, etc.

Day Eight

Surf Day

Wake up to an included breakfast! â€‹

Opt in to join the group on an additional surfing expedition to Jaco, the best area for surfing and good for both beginners and experts! Take a 1-on-1 surfing lesson with beautiful scenery and then take the rest of the late morning to check out Jaco, a larger town more popular with locals from San Jose.

Others who don't want to surf can join the transportation to Jaco and explore the town and beaches nearby. Anyone can also choose to hang by the pool(s!) in the morning or head out on one of the optional excursions below.

Optional Excursions in Manuel Antonio:

  • Joing a catamaran day or half-day tour of the stunning coastlines.

  • If you're looking for a shorter option, try a sunset cruise!

  • Try out scuba diving in the coral reefs off the coast.

  • Take a kayak tour in the mangroves.

  • Hang out by the beach and maybe even go parasailing or jet skiing off the coast!

  • Similar to La Fortuna and Monteverde, there are also zip-lining, wildlife, horseback riding, ATVing, and rafting tours from Manuel Antonio.

Day Nine

Flight Home

Enjoy one last morning on the coast, grab a coffee by the ocean with your new friends, hang by the beach, and say goodbye to the rainforest (for now).

Professional transportation from the accommodation in Manuel Antonio to the airport in San Jose is included.

It's goodbye for now, but not forever! The Pura Vida mentality will stay with you because, after all, it's the Costa Rican motto. Pura vida means being thankful for what they have and the present. It’s an attitude and a happy way of life.
